Expert group to advise on skills
The group, established by the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment will advise on future skills requirements and associated labour market issues that impact on enterprise and employment growth in Ireland.
The Expert Group on Future Skills Needs (EGFSN) will operate under the aegis of Forfás.
Anne Heraty, chief executive of CPL Resources has been appointed chairperson of the group.
Other members include John Coleman, head of the College of Business and Law at UCC; Enda Connolly, divisional manager with IDA Ireland; Roger Fox, director of planning and research at FÁS; David Hedigan of Enterprise Ireland; Brendan Murphy, director at Cork Institute of Technology and Aileen O’Donoghue, director of Financial Services Ireland at IBEC.
Among the tasks of the group will be identifying the emerging needs for policy or structural changes, reviewing the value of operational programmes and delivery systems in place to meet national skills needs.
