THOUSANDS of jobs and billions of euro of investment could be generated in the animation, electronic games and other digital media industries in Ireland if specialised courses are offered by third-level colleges, a Government policy body has suggested.

Raising skills levels and delivering high-quality graduates will be the twin priorities of the Expert Group on Future Skills Needs (EGFSN) going forward, the body's chairperson said today.

Anne Heraty has been appointed Chairperson of the new-look Expert Group for Future Skills Needs (EGFSN), which has been merged with the National Training Advisory Committee.
