Macra president to take up post

MACRA na Feirme’s new president, Catherine Buckley from Rylane, Co Cork, will take up the post at the group’s annual general meeting in the Boyne Valley Hotel, Drogheda, Co Louth, on May 12.

Three regional vice-presidents, Denis Drennan (Kilkenny) for Leinster, Tom Quirke (Galway) for the north west and Flor O’Gorman (Cork) for Munster, will also take up their posts at the meeting, which is sponsored by ACC Bank.

Other highlights will include the national debating competition final, sponsored by the National Forum on Europe. Athboy club from Co Meath and Clonakilty from Cork will debate the motion that 50 years on, the EU should continue to enlarge.
