Leeson’s jacket sells for €30,855

Nick Leeson’s blue-and-yellow striped trading jacket from Barings was sold to Paul Taylor, manager of the Three Delta fund, for £21,000 (€30,855) by the defunct British investment bank’s liquidator, the Daily Telegraph reported, citing the liquidator.

The jacket has not been dry-cleaned. KPMG’s Richard Heis, who handles the Barings’ liquidation said: “You can smell the fear on it. I didn’t want to dilute that,” Mr Heis said.

The jacket had been offered for sale on EBay. The top bid reached £16,100, below the reserve price, allowing Mr Heis to sell it to a private buyer.
