THE Government is withholding funding for several crucial road projects in Cork.

The decision has put projects like the completion of flyovers on the Bandon and Sarsfield Road roundabouts on the N25, and the upgrade of the N28 to Ringaskiddy, on the back-burner for at least three years.

And it also emerged there is no National Roads Authority (NRA) construction project underway in the county. Its earliest construction work is set to begin on the Fermoy to Mitchelstown route next year.
