Financials drag market progress

THE ISEQ index finished the session down 31.74 to 9,512.86 as the financial sector dragged the market as a whole into negative figures.

IL&P slipped 68c to €19.72, whereas Anglo-Irish added a meagre 5c to €16.30. Bank of Ireland and AIB both lost ground, down 17c and 27c to €16.63 and €22.85.

Construction sector shares had a mixed day as CRH were up 2c to €31.95 and Kingspan followed suit adding €3.26c to €20.11. Grafton dropped 32c to €11.88.
