Summer opening for Burren hotel

THE Atlantis Holiday Group said yesterday the new hotel, spa and holiday complex under construction in the north Clare coastal village of Ballyvaughan will open during summer 2007, creating 30 jobs.

Located beside the village harbour, the Burren Coast Hotel, the new development will include 20 bedrooms, a spa, bar, restaurant, function room and a conference facility.

The complex, designed by Healy & Partners Architects in Limerick and developed by Megcourt Developments, will also feature 22 holiday homes. The group also bought Smerwick Harbour Hotel complex, near Dingle in Co Kerry. The new hotels have generated over 90 jobs, of which 25 are permanent.
