Dublin market sinks after high point

THE Dublin market dropped back after Friday’s high. The exchange was 39.02 points lower at 9679.73.

The financial sector finished 100 points lower with all four stocks in negative territory. AIB dropped 15c to 23.10. Bank of Ireland dipped 5c to 17.90. Anglo and Irish Life and Permanent were 8c and 35c weaker at 16.04 and 21.65 respectively. Construction giant CRH lost 19c at 32.03. Grafton Group eased 2c back to 12.75. Kingspan fell 12c to 20.38. Mcinerney was unchanged at 15.55.

DCC was 50c better at 26.70 after speculation of a change in ownership in Manor Park. Independent News & Media added 3c to 3.33 as it announced a takeover bid for APN News & Media. Aer Lingus declined 5c to 2.80.
