DAIRYGOLD has criticised threats by SIPTU to hold industrial action for a second time in two years at its whole milk powder plant in Mallow, even though the union has not formally indicated it will take the action.

The issue relates to the introduction of new working and pay arrangements for the 30 staff employed on the site.

According to the company, SIPTU has informally threatened the action over its plans to introduce the same working conditions and pay which were agreed in the Mitchelstown and Mogeely plants in February 2005.
