SCIENCE FOUNDATION IRELAND Foundation Ireland invested nearly €140 million in research in 2006.

The announcement by the Irish Government of a new Strategy for Science, Technology and Innovation (SSTI) 2006-2013 will increase the funding available for research over the next seven years.

The money went to projects in the information and communications technology (ICT), biotechnology and the research frontiers programme.
