Simply ‘opt-out’ to stop those unwanted calls

CONSUMERS are being urged to put an end to cold calls by simply including their telephone number on an “opt-out” list.

Yesterday, the Data Protection Commissioner (DPC) and Commission for Communications Regulation (ComReg) launched a campaign to inform consumers on how to stop unsolicited calls.

While ex-directory numbers are automatically included on the opt- out list, those included on the national directory can also make a request to be excluded.
