Market returns to positive territory

THE ISEQ Index closed in positive territory yesterday. The Dublin exchange gained 20.99 to close at 8,938.14.

In the financial sector, AIB added 14c to €21.63 while rival Bank of Ireland fell 12c to €16.53. Anglo Irish suffered as profit taking was the order of the day, falling 20c to €15.20. Irish Life & Permanent jumped 25c to €20.

In construction, CRH stormed 38c higher to €29 as the dollar lost ground against the euro. Kingspan rose 27c to €18.40 while Grafton dropped 3c to €11.45.

Elsewhere, C&C climbed 20c to €12.25 with over 2.4 million shares traded. DCC added 61c to close at €24.11. Oil and gas exploration company Petroneft Resources crossed the line 5c higher at 73 cent.
