SFA head urges new tax vision

THE chairman of the Small Firms Association Pat Crotty has called on all political parties to set a new vision for taxation policy in the forthcoming general election.

He also called for further reductions in corporate and capital taxes.

He told the annual SFA lunch that Ireland must continue to be strong enough and certain enough to lead the way in innovative fiscal policy.

“There is no reason to accept that our taxation rates are the lowest possible. It has been demonstrated that every time government has committed to reducing taxation, its tax take has actually increased. There is no reason to believe that this will not be the case into the future.”
