Ploughing festival set to attract 150,000 visitors

MORE than 150,000 people are expected to attend the national and world ploughing championships over four days in Grangeford, Tullow, Co Carlow, later this month.

The 53rd world event will take place in Ireland this year to mark the 75th anniversary of the founding of the National Ploughing Association (NPA).

Teams of two competitors from each of the 28 participating countries will take part in the world contest, which will also be attended by 350 official delegates and others from various parts of the globe.
