THE Irish Examiner continues to hold its own in the increasingly competitive newspaper market, figures released yesterday reveal.

The Audit Bureau of Circulation (ABC) figures show the newspaper sold an average of 57,217 copies a day during the six-month period from January to June 2006.

Chief executive Tom Murphy said he was confident of a further significant increase in readership when new figures are released on September 6.
