Eircom names new chief executive

EIRCOM has appointed Rex Comb as chief executive. Mr Comb, 43, was chief executive of Babcock & Brown Capital Management for the last 18 months.

He took over from Phil Nolan, who held the position from 2002.

Babcock this month completed its takeover of Eircom in a transaction valuing the company at €2.42 billion. It was the fourth change of ownership in seven years.
