Version 1 clinches Prose acquisition

IRISH IT consultancy Version 1 has acquired Dublin-based software company, Prose in a move that will increase the company’s revenues by 20% to almost €12 million and increase employment to 120 people.

The combined entity will operate under the Version 1 name and brand. The value of the deal was not disclosed but is estimated to be worth €1m.

Established in 1981, Prose provides software packages, bespoke software and customer support services. It has approximately 50 clients in the areas of government, public sector, media, corporate and health. Customers include the Irish Aviation Authority, Readymix and RTÉ&.

“This acquisition will give us access to different skills and technologies,” said Justin Keatinge, MD of Version 1.
