ISEQ index slips back slightly

THE ISEQ index slipped into negative territory yesterday, closing down 29.7 points at 7351.81.

AIB was 18c lower at €18.12. Bank of Ireland dropped 35c to €13.65. Irish Life and Permanent eased back 10c to €18.40, while Anglo Irish Bank added 5c to €11.45.

Construction giant CRH rose 1c, closing at €29.98. Kingspan Group was 11c weaker at €13.30 and Grafton group stayed at €9.57.

Elsewhere, FBD Holdings jumped €1.05 to €35.85 as Farmer Business Development disposed of 4.5 million shares via a placing and FBD bought back 3.8m of them. Get Mobile fell 22c to 11c after a statement warning that 2006 results would be materially lower than current market expectations.
