Eircom found to be in breach of regulations

COMREG, the communications industry regulator, has found Eircom in breach of regulations by discriminating against other operators when it comes to the provision of customer information.

It was alleged to ComReg last month that Eircom Retail sales agents were able to obtain other operators’ customer account numbers directly from Eircom’s wholesale systems.

Such information isn’t meant to be made available to any other retail operator — including Eircom Retail — unless provided by the customers themselves.
