Tullow in dark over takeover bid

TULLOW OIL said it was not aware of any takeover approach by a company and wouldn’t welcome a bid.

Tullow, which pumps oil and gas in the North Sea, western Africa and southern Asia, said in March profit more than tripled in 2005 as new production helped it take advantage of soaring oil and gas prices.
