AN Irish company has won the race to build homes for as low as €90,000 each to help ease Britain’s growing housing crisis.

Kingspan Century, based in Monaghan, was part of a six-strong consortium, consisting of house builders, developers and architects, which won a contest run by the British government to find the cheap homes of the future.

Kingspan Century devised a spacious two-bed, pre-fabricated house made from hi-tech materials, as well as wood and glass.
