Cowen praises thriving Fexco

A KERRY-BASED global payments company was yesterday described by Finance Minister Brian Cowen as a wonderful model of Irish business success.

In an increasingly competitive, globalised world, he said Ireland was going to need more people with the entrepreneurial and innovative spirit of Fexco founder Brian McCarthy.

Started in Killorglin, in 1981, as a VAT refund operation, the company has since expanded to nearby Caherciveen and has operations in Britain, Spain, Scandinavia, Malta, Dubai, Australia and the US.
