Slide hits across the board

The ISEQ Index closed 133.15 points lower yesterday at 4156.68.

The financial market lost 321.81 points, finishing at 8224.67. Bank of Ireland fell 40c to 10.85 as Allied Irish Bank closed 49c lower at 12.26. Irish Life and Permanent slipped back 77c to 12.20 and Anglo Irish Bank lost 17c to close at 6.13.

However, First Active rose 3c to 4.73 and IFG Group gained 5c to 0.80.

In the food sector, Kerry Group closed 15c lower at 14.15 and IAWS lost 15c to finish at 7.75. Fyffes slipped 5c lower to 1.38 and Greencore fell 8c to 2.90.

In the industrial sector, CRH closed 37c lower at 14.55 and DCC lost 25c to 10.05.

Kingspan lost 8c to 1.90 and IWP fell 10c to 1. Abbey slipped 7c lower to 4.65 but Grafton Group bucked the trend rising 2c to 3.80.

Elsewhere, Jury Doyle Hotels closed 10c lower at 8, and Irish Continental Group fell 20c to 5.65.
