RETAILER Brown Thomas has become the first store group in Ireland to offer its overseas customers a choice to pay by credit card in their own currency using chip and PIN technology.

Brown Thomas chose FEXCO, the Kerry-based global payments group, as their partner in providing this service, known as Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC).

Joe Rylands, Head of IT at Brown Thomas said: “Research has shown that our overseas customers will react warmly to paying in their own currency and to the added security of Chip and PIN.”
