ACCA welcomes auditing authority

ACCA (The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) has welcomed the establishment of the Irish Accounting and Auditing Supervisory Authority (IAASA) and the appointment of Ian Drennan as IAASA’s first chief executive.

ACCA said its members have nothing to fear from the new regulatory regime at IAASA.

“Our system of monitoring, authorisation, licensing and discipline is second to none and would be considered a benchmark for other accounting bodies to aspire to” said head of ACCA Ireland Roger Acton.
