BA ‘will not bid for Aer Lingus’

British Airways won’t bid for Aer Lingus Group Plc chief executive Rod Eddington told shareholders yesterday.

“We are definitely not a bidder for Aer Lingus,” he said. “It’s important for us that they stay in the Oneworld alliance, but our focus is to reduce debt.”
