THE Irish Road Haulage Association (IRHA) has warned of serious disruption in the haulage sector, because some transport managers and companies are refusing to pay additional charges due to rising fuel costs.

“Our members must pass on these fuel surcharges, the same as all other industries“, said IRHA vice-president Jimmy Quinn.

Mr Quinn said members were going out of business thanks to rocketing fuel costs, and the industry faced a crisis.
