Market continues to head south

SHARES in Dublin again slipped into negative territory with the financials and construction stocks leading the fall. The ISEQ eased 23.99 points to 5668.00.

Allied Irish Bank and Bank of Ireland shed 3c and 12c respectively. On the second line Anglo-Irish put in a solid performance on the day, up 6c at €15.06.

Northern Drug Company Warner Chilcott advanced 18c to €12.00. Meanwhile Elan bucked the positive trend, down 14c to €18.67.

Elsewhere, CRH weighed on the index, 5c lower on the day. Budget carrier Ryanair, continued its decline, lower at €3.81. The food sector was mixed with Kerry ahead by 10c, while Greencore and Glanbia both finished weaker.
