IWP chief executive Jim Murphy is to quit his post with the struggling household products company.

Mr Murphy, a former Golden Vale chief executive, told the IWP board he did not wish to move to Britain, following the recent decision to shift the company’s headquarters from Dublin to Skelmersdale.

He will step down as soon as a replacement chief executive is named.

“The board regrets Mr Murphy’s decision but fully understands the circumstances and thanks him for what has been achieved in difficult circumstances since he joined IWP in September 2003,” said IWP chairman Joe Moran.
