O’Donoghue stays on in ESB chair

TADHG O’Donoghue has been reappointed ESB chairman for a further five years.

Mr O’Donoghue was appointed to the board in September 2000, becoming chairman in July 2001.

He was previously chairman of Bord Iascaigh Mhara and president of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ireland.

Announcing the appointment, Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources, Noel Dempsey said: “Mr O’Donoghue has presided over the Board of ESB during a period of extraordinary change.

“Under Mr O’Donoghue’s steward-ship, the company has delivered consistently strong financial results and continued to meet the growing demand for electricity from industrial and domestic consumers.”
