Hunt aims to stay on track

Stockbroker turned Government adviser Colin Hunt, whose friends say definitely leans to the right side of Fianna Fáil, is likely to press for further deregulation of bus travel, particularly in urban areas, writes Kyran Fitzgerald.

TRANSPORT Minister Martin Cullen will be content this weekend in the knowledge that he has secured the services of one of the country's best known economists, Colin Hunt, a strong proponent of enterprise development and deregulation.

The move is a strong signal that the minister is likely to try and pursue a similar liberalising agenda to that followed, with limited success, by his predecessor, Seamus Brennan.
