Institute demands improved exports

IRISH companies must improve on their export performance or face stagnation. That stark warning was delivered at yesterday’s annual conference of the Sales Institute of Ireland.

On the plus side, help is at hand. The record 350 delegates in Croke Park conference centre learned that Enterprise Ireland is about to launch a pilot ”Sale Star” programme which will help 35 Irish companies break into their chosen markets abroad.

Enterprise Ireland project manager Brendan Donnelly explained: “The International Selling Programme is totally export-focused. It is aimed at senior sales executives in companies that trade internationally, with mandatory programme participation by their CEOs.”
