Ireland saw an increase in venture capital activity in the third quarter, according to a new report from Ernst & Young. Thirteen deals worth €33m took place in Ireland - a 55% increase on the same period last year.

Nine of the deals were in the IT sector, while three were in healthcare and one in business services. The total level of venture capital activity across Europe fell by 9%.
