Geoghegan named LeasePlan director

BRIAN GEOGHEGAN, who retired recently as director of economic affairs at IBEC and as chairman of FÁS has been appointed a director of LeasePlan Fleet Management Ireland Ltd.

In Ireland, under chief executive Sharon O’Buachalla, LeasePlan manages over 8,000 vehicles for corporate clients who are drawn from all industry sectors.

An indigenous Irish company, LeasePlan Fleet Management was founded in 1983 and was purchased by and became part of the LeasePlan Group in 2000.

The LeasePlan Group has in excess of 1.2 million vehicles, 7,000 staff and operates in 27 countries across Europe, Asia, Australia, the USA and South America providing consolidated products and services.

Mr Geoghegan has been one of the leading figures in Irish business for over two decades. At IBEC, he played a key role in representing Irish business with policy makers in Ireland and internationally.

He was a central figure in the negotiation of successive National Partnership agreements between the Government and the Social Partners.
