Great win for green cement

Lisheen Mines, the lead and zinc mining outfit owned by international mining giant Anglo American plc, has awarded a major supply contract for environmentally friendly cement.

Ecocem, which operates Ireland’s first pollution-free cement manufacturing facility in Dublin Port, will supply up to 120,000 tonnes of cement during the next four years.

The move will lead to reduced emissions of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.
