Dublin shares up for the second day

SHARES in Dublin rose for the second day in a row yesterday. The ISEQ closed 41.63 points higher at 5218.81.

In the financial sector, Bank of Ireland added 17c to €10.32 with over 3.7 million shares traded. Allied Irish Bank gained 11c while Anglo-Irish remained unchanged at €13.00. Irish Life & Permanent strengthened to €13.40.

Gresham Hotel Group slipped 7c to €1.15, following Wednesday's announcement that the consortium of investors has reduced its indicative offer for the company from €1.45 to €1.35.

IFG released results with better than expected pre-tax profits, the stock gained 6c to finish at €1.11.
