Can we buy it? Bid for Bob’s company

THE race to take over Bob the Builder creator Hit Entertainment hotted up over the weekend, after Canadian film and television studio Lions Gate Entertainment said it may bid for the company.

Hit, whose portfolio also includes Thomas the Tank Engine and Barney, agreed a deal last month with venture capital firm Apax, which part-owns Ireland’s Golden Pages, that valued the company at almost stg£500 million (€725 million).
