IRISH MBAs are among the best in Europe, according to rankings released today.

Ireland’s MBAs get high ratings

The Financial Times MBA rankings compares more than 2,500 such courses offered around the world under a number of categories.

The study places the full-time MBA offered by Trinity College Dublin Irish Marketing Institute School of Management 22nd in its European rankings and 85th in the world.

The Trinity MBA is also in the Top 10 courses globally under two categories - international mobility (2nd) and value for money (3rd) - and seventh in Europe for alumni salary levels.

Trinity MBA director Karen F Finigan said the rankings reflect the course’s ethos and substance.

“We believe a programme that engages the students with the community, global business leaders and strong partner schools offers the best possible opportunity for learning and career development,” she said.

The programme also has above-average participation by women, who make up 43% of this year’s student body.

Professor Tom Begley, Dean of UCD Business Schools, expressed pleasure at being in the rankings, but said increased competitiveness among business schools worldwide highlights the need for ongoing investment in business education.

“We have always benchmarked ourselves against the best schools in the world and will continue to do so in recognition of this we have recently made a number of senior international appointments at the school,” he said.
