INDEPENDENT News and Media has appointed Martin Lindsay as the new editor of the Belfast Telegraph.

Lindsay, who succeeds Edmund Curran, will take up his new post after 12 years as editor of the paper’s sister title, Sunday Life.

“Martin Lindsay is one of the most respected and experienced journalists in the British Isles today,” said Ivan Fallon, chief executive of Independent News and Media.
