German exports fell in February, breaking the longest run of gains in more than a decade, as the euro’s climb to a record against the dollar made goods from Europe’s largest economy more expensive abroad.

Foreign sales, adjusted for seasonal swings, fell 2.5% from January, after gaining in the previous six months, the Federal Statistics Office said in Wiesbaden.

Economists had expected the decline, the median of seven forecasts in a Bloomberg News survey showed. The unadjusted trade surplus narrowed to €12.1 billion from a revised €12.5 billion.
