Eastman Kodak photo labs to close

Eastman Kodak Co., the world’s largest photography company, said it would close processing labs in Spain and Norway and scale back one in Switzerland, cutting 313 jobs, as demand for traditional photos declines.

The company will close facilities in Barcelona and Valencia, Spain, with 141 jobs, and one outside Oslo with 75 jobs, Rochester, New York-based Kodak said in a US regulatory filing. Kodak will cut 97 jobs at a Renens, Switzerland, lab as the facility stops most film development.

The European cuts are part of Kodak’s three-year plan, announced in January, to cut 12,000 to 15,000 jobs worldwide as demand for traditional film declines, the company said in the filing.
