High-tech sector welcomes approval

ICT Ireland, the high tech sector within IBEC, has welcomed the announcement by the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government, to approve two electronic equipment waste management compliance schemes - WEEE Ireland and European Recycling Platform (ERP).

Kathryn Raleigh, Director of ICT Ireland, said: “These compliance schemes will organise the collection, treatment and recycling of waste electrical and electronic equipment in Ireland on behalf of their members and will ensure that electronic equipment will no longer end up in land-fill or on the side of the road.”
