Belfast airport traffic up 8.9%

Passenger numbers at Belfast International Airport rose 8.9% in the period between April and June, airport operator, TBI said yesterday.

Passengers on low-cost airlines were ahead by 9%, while charter flights saw a 6.9% increase in passengers. TBI said its four European airports handled a total of 3.83 million passengers during the quarter, almost 6% more than the same period last year. TBI also operates Cardiff, Luton and Stockholm Skavsta.
