THE lack of certainty on the outcome of construction disputes suggests the industry should encourage large contractors to refer disputes to the Commercial Court rather than exclusively to arbitration, a Construction Law seminar was told yesterday in Dublin.

The event, entitled ‘Making your way through the contractual maze’ was organised by O’Donnell Sweeney Solicitors.

Construction law experts, Dermot McEvoy and Mark Varian from O’Donnell Sweeney Solicitors, addressed the seminar on the areas of project management and contractual compliance and examined where disputes can commonly arise in major projects.
