French stocks fall

FRENCH stocks fell for the first day in three. Thomson SA and other exporters to the US dropped as the dollar slipped to its lowest in two weeks against the euro.

Declines in the CAC 40 Index were limited by Alcatel SA and L’Oreal SA, which reported higher quarterly sales.

The benchmark CAC 40 dropped 0.2% to 4313.78.
