EMC shows sharp rise in results

EMC CORPORATION which employs over 1200 in its Irish operations yesterday reported a sharp improvement in its financial results for the third quarter of 2003.

Total consolidated sales hit the $1.51 billion mark, 20% up on the $1.26 billion reported for the third quarter of 2002.

Net profits reached $159 million or $.07 per diluted share. That figure was boosted by a $.02 benefit resulting from a favourable resolution of certain tax matters.
