Irish IBM plants escape worst of cuts
IBM employs 3,700 people at various facilities in Dublin, but according to sources, it is unlikely to suffer widespread job losses. A number of voluntary redundancies are expected.
The company plans to axe 13,000 from its 100,000-strong European workforce. It is understood it is seeking to cut management operations in Europe in a bid to reduce costs, so the Irish arm will escape the worst of the cuts.
