Market makes moderate gain

THE ISEQ Index closed in positive territory yesterday. The Dublin Exchange was 16.27 points stronger at 7879.21 although there was little in the way of news flow to drive the market.

Market heavyweight AIB finished up 6c at €19.14. Bank of Ireland gained 30c and closed at €15.07. Irish Life and Permanent dropped 6c on the day to €18.30.

Construction giant CRH gained a further 35c with a closing price of €27.25. Grafton group was unchanged at €10.50 even though more than 1.3 million shares changed hands. Kingspan Group added 15c to €11.80.
