BRITISH regional airline BMI has submitted a tender to the Government to operate three Irish domestic routes.

The company wants to operate the Kerry-Dublin and Knock-Dublin routes, which are operated by Aer Arann, and the Logan Air-operated Derry Dublin route, all of which receive government subsidies. The routes are out to tender for a three-year period.

BMI regional managing director Crawford Rix said: “BMI already has a strong presence in the Irish marketplace, through our successful Dublin-London Heathrow service. If successful in this tender, we would significantly expand our regional service offering.”
