Tesco sales rise 9.5% to €1.91bn

TESCO said sales in its Irish stores rose by 9.5% to €1.91 billion in the year to end February — a record figure for the company.

The retailer, the biggest in Ireland, said the growth came from its existing stores, five new outlets and from its two petrol stations.

Tesco said it saw a 4% rise in like-for-like sales and strong growth also came from its non-food sale, which now account for 20% of the total in Ireland.
